Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE)
Synchronous Ethernet (or SyncE in short) is a Synchronization mechanism in Ethernet networks. This is borrowed from telecom networks (like T1, E1 etc). Actual Synchronization happens in hardware. SSM messages are used to qualify the sync quality.
