GSMTAP is a pseudo-header format, used to encapsulate frames from a GSM Um (air) interface into UDP/IP packets. It serves a similar purpose to that of radiotap in the 802.11 world.
GSMTAP is implemented as wireshark dissector and statically bound to the IANA-assigned UDP port 4729.
